Daniel Cooney Fine Art is pleased to announce a two-person exhibition by contemporary photographic portraitists Rachael Dunville and Michael Joseph. The exhibition will consist of large-scale images in color (Dunville) and black and white (Joseph), featuring approximately 12 – 15 images by each artist.
Rachael Dunville’s photographs are selected from her ongoing series of over 14 years titled Show Me State made near her home in the Missouri Ozarks. Dunville’s work reveals the intimacy in the act of portraiture itself. Her work highlights the emotional exchange made when the subject and artists collaborate on an image.
Michael Joseph photographs young men and women known as “Travelers” who crisscross the United States via freight train and form complex social structures while adhering to the laws of their own road. The series, titled Lost and Found has taken Joseph all over the country exploring the vast under ground network of people searching for freedom.
Rachael Dunville currently lives and works in Springfield, MO, she received her BFA from Missouri State University and her MFA from School of Visual Arts. She has exhibited at Michael Mazzeo Gallery and has been featured in Conscientious, The New Yorker and Focus.
