May 9, 2-4pm: Recording Something of Note: A reading celebrating Robert Giard’s literary portraits is a salon-style reading featuring selections from the writings of the literary subjects Robert Giard photographed, as read by New Mexico artists and writers. With Kelley Gemmill, Nick Larsen, Erin Jane Nelson, Kimmy Rohrs, and Chris Philpot. Keynote reader Margaret Randall—subject of a Giard portrait—will share selections from her forthcoming book, The Calendar’s Whim. Organized by PRROBLEM Press, Santa Fe, NM.
May 14, 5-7pm: Private reception for Alison Bechdel in association with the Santa Fe International Literary Festival. Join us to welcome cartoonist and author of the bestselling graphic memoir Fun Home and the comic, quasi-autobiographical novel Spent, Alison Bechdel, to Santa Fe! Alison’s 1995 portrait by Robert Giard is featured in the exhibition. Alison will be in conversation with Mira Jacob at the Santa Fe International Literary Festival on May 16 at 11am.
May 23, 3-5pm: Afternoon Reading: Three prominent Santa Fe writers: James Thomas Stevens, Jordan Eddy and Austin Eichelberger gather to share their work. Organized by Curate, Santa Fe, NM.
